DIY Gabion Wall - Part 2 🛠🏢🏡
I started by digging this 14ft channel for my gabion wall to snuggly sit. This may not seem like a big undertaking, but this is hard-packed clay, and I had to fight and scrape for every inch. Then my side of the channel started caving in because my yard was tilled loose, and the weight of the excess dirt destroyed all structural integrity. It was just an obnoxious chore. But I got it done! Then I pulled out my landscape fabric scraps and thought that I had finally found a purpose for all of these skinny offcuts. Big mistake as the skinny pieces kept falling in on themselves and then got dirt behind them. Lesson learned. Use longer pieces so they hang well over the sides, and then trim them up later.
